How about another fresh, delicious character design?

JP here, Matt's been slaving away to get the character designs done so he can work on the sample pages so we can start pitching this monster, and we thought we'd post another one of his recently completed beauties. We've let you see some of the monsters, we've introduced you to our boy Zak and now it's time to meet one of the ladies of the comic. Who is she and what role will she play? Well that's more of a "lets get the comic published so you can read all about that" kind of thing. But I can tell you that Zak's been working up the nerve to ask her out on a date. Of course he doesn't realize the giant (sorry) changes that are in store for him. Anyway, have a look at Sarah.

Zak character design!

JP here. So far we've gotten a couple of nice examples of Matt's very cool monster designs. But what about our hero, you know the dude who gets all big and has to fight these crazy kaiju? Eh, we'll figure him out later...all we care about is monsters, monsters, monsters! I'm kidding of course. I mean, we do care a great deal about monsters, monsters, monsters, but we most certainly are going to be giving big time love to our main character. It's his story after all and as cool as the monsters and monster fighting action is going to be, our hope is that Zak's story is what keeps you coming back.

So with that, lets have a look at our boy Zak. Below you'll find Matt's character design for Zak Goji. This is for pre gigantified Zak (though for fun Matt suggested that cool pose). Let us know what you think!

Revel in his Badassitude.

It's MATT. The slightly unhinged artist and kaiju fan recently invited to join forces by our proprietor, JP, on this AWESOME project.

And thus was born KRONGASAURUS.

Think of him as the Obi Wan of kaiju. That's him in a nutshell. Stay tuned for more goodness!

Who's Behind This Nefarious Scheme?

So maybe you'd like to know who's making and trying to get this comic published? No? Well too bad, because we've got these nice little bios for myself (creator, writer) and the artist (pencils, inks, colors) that we've written up as part of our pitch...and we're not letting them go to waste! Here they be:

Jeff Prezenkowski is a creative executive at Cartoon Network. He develops new series and has overseen production of several series including My Gym Partner’s a Monkey and Camp Lazlo, and currently is in charge of production for The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. He has also written for the CN series The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.

Matt Frank is a freelance artist and writer out of Austin, Texas, and an avid fan of monsters and sci-fi/fantasy. He has provided art for the Beast Wars Sourcebooks and Transformers Animated comics for IDW and Hasbro, as well as extensive illustration and comic work for G-Fan Magazine and Prehistoric Times and Marvel's Hardcover sourcebooks. His first full one-shot was the Ray Harryhausen WRATH OF THE TITANS: CYCLOPS (Bluewater Prod.) which he wrote and illustrated.

See, that wasn't so bad, right? I just want to point out how thrilled and excited I am to have Matt involved in this project. He couldn't be a better fit both in terms of his awesome ability to draw some amazingly, kick ass kaiju as well as his staggering wealth of knowledge and excitement when it comes to all things related to Godzilla, the daikaiju genre and giant monsters in general. But why not let Matt's art speak for itself, while also allowing nice intro to the kind of beasts our giant-sized, teenage hero will have to tangle with on the monster side of things.
